Mechanical Solutions, Inc. (MSI), a leading provider of solutions for complex or urgent vibration, dynamics, or performance related problems in critical rotating machinery and systems, today announced VibVue™, a tool to help engineers and technicians identify and solve critical vibration issues. VibVue™ obtains vibration measurements and associated analysis using a high-speed camera and novel software solution for faster, easier, and less error-prone diagnosis of vibration and system dynamics problems.
Streamlined Software Delivers Measurements You Need, Without the Wait
Until now, reliability and maintenance engineers have struggled with cumbersome, less-sensitive, commercially available tools that help visualize machinery vibration. There are shortcomings in the underlying video processing technology, which produces the vibration measurements. As a result, engineers ultimately settle on missed measurements due to limited frequency span or low displacement amplitude, and spend significant time working through data to get an analysis result.
Now, with VibVue™ technology, engineers and technicians can maximize a commercially available video processing tool to get accurate vibration measurements at low displacement levels and high frequencies, and intuitively analyze the resulting data to quickly identify and solve vibration issues.
VibVue™ combines Motion Magnification technology – a proven solution licensed from a major university – with streamlined, intuitive software to help engineers precisely and easily acquire and analyze the data needed to quickly pinpoint root causes of vibration problems. Using VibVue™ will result in lower maintenance costs, reduced problem resolution time, and decreased machine or plant downtime.
“The VibVue system is the best tool we have to get funds approved to fix the right thing at the right time,” said Gary Adams, Director of Reliability Solutions at John H. Carter. “With VibVue, management gets a clear, precise, visual understanding of vibration issues in a system.”
Complete Solutions for Vibration and System Dynamics Problems
MSI designed VibVue™ for accuracy and simplicity, with extremely low levels of displacement detection, greater frequency range, and faster analysis time. The solution magnifies motion up to 1,000x – twenty times more powerful than advertised by other commercially available solutions.
VibVue™ system support includes a review of customer videos by MSI’s own rotating machinery troubleshooting professionals. If identified problems require more time or expertise than customers have access to, MSI can deploy teams with deep experience solving vibration or system dynamics problems to diagnose the issue and propose effective fix options.
VibVue™ Features and Benefits
Overall, users find that VibVue™ is faster, easier to implement, and more versatile than traditional methods, allowing problems to be diagnosed more easily, and with more certainty. For more information, visit https://www.mechsol.com/products/vibvue/.

BeAM, a leading machine manufacturer in the field of DED (Directed Energy Deposition) technology for additive manufacturing, and the global technology company Siemens announced at EMO 2019 their plans to further intensify their already successful collaboration. This is based on the successful piloting of Sinumerik One, the new CNC generation from Siemens. As a “digital native”, the new controller features software for the creation of digital twins, which supports the seamless integration of hardware and software. BeAM is the first machine builder to equip an additive manufacturing machine – Modulo 250 – with a Sinumerik One. At EMO 2019, the world’s first AM machine equipped with a Sinumerik One will be presented to the public at the Siemens booth in Hall 9, Booth H50. Visitors to EMO can see how the program simulation is operated on the machine using the Digital Twin of Production in the NX Virtual Machine software. „We are very excited to close the loop in the additive digital chain by bridging virtual simulation and actual deposition on our new Modulo 250 thanks to the integration of the new Sinumerik One. It opens up new possibilities for our industrial customers willing to integrate further DED in their value chain and optimize its usage “, explains BeAM’s CEO Vincent Gillet.
This 45-minute video takes the trainee right inside the compressor to see how the gas flows through the machine, how the pressure is increased, how the seal systems works, what the bearings look like and much more. It would be a valuable addition to any training or orientation of employees that are involved with the operation, maintenance, process design or management of centrifugal compressor systems.
Blackmer®, part of PSG® and Dover (NYSE: DOV), and a global leader in specialty pumps and reciprocating compressor technologies, is pleased to announce that its GNX Series Sliding Vane Pumps are now available in 3- and 4-inch models. Due to increased customer demand, Blackmer has doubled the models available in its popular GNX Series, the market’s only alignment-free, reduced-speed positive displacement pump.
“When we launched the Blackmer GNX Series in 2017, even though the product line was limited to just the 2- and 2.5-inch models, it quickly began surpassing sales expectations,” said Geoff VanLeeuwen, Product Management Director for Blackmer. “This significant increase in customer demand can be attributed to GNX Series’ one-of-a-kind construction, which features zero-alignment design that offers our customers several benefits, such as ease of installation, lower maintenance and increased reliability. Now that we have added 3- and 4-inch models to the product line, there’s no doubt that this product line will continue to resonate in the marketplace for years to come.”
Blackmer GNX Series pumps have been designed to optimize the transfer of non-corrosive, non-abrasive industrial and petroleum products for both portable and stationary applications. These heavy-duty sliding vane pumps include the proven features of Blackmer legacy GX Series pumps but take them to the next level with the incorporation of a commercial-grade, single-stage gearbox, motor and baseplate. This innovative new gearbox fits between the motor and pump and is held in place by a permanent dowelled connection that creates a structural link between the high-speed and low-speed sides of the system. This results in a pump that will not need to be realigned either at initial installation or following a maintenance procedure, resulting in improved peace of mind for the operator.
To further highlight the GNX Series’ innovative design, Blackmer has developed an interactive web tool that illustrates the pump’s working principle while emphasizing key design elements that help the GNX Series separate itself from the competition.
